UWB Autocorrelation Receiver Based on Average Differential Transmitted Reference
نویسندگان
چکیده
There are strong noise components included in the reference signal and the received signal of the ultrawideband (UWB) differential transmitted reference (DTR) autocorrelation receiver, which impact on the receiver's performance seriously. Therefore this paper proposes a autocorrelation receiver based on average differential transmitted reference (ADTR). This receiver averages the received signals within every frame of the previous symbol period to form the new reference signal. The received signals within each frame of the current symbol interval are also averaged to construct the new received signal, which is correlated with the new reference signal to restore the transmitted symbols. Theoretical analysis and simulation results confirm that BER performance of ADTR autocorrelation receiver is better than the DTR receiver. Compared with DTR receiver, the signal to noise ratio gains of the ADTR receiver are 1.1dB with Ns=3 and 2.1dB with Ns=6 respectively when BER=10-4.

Optimal and suboptimal receivers for ultra-wideband transmitted reference systems
The optimal receiver for an ultra-wideband transmitted reference (UWB TR) system in a single user multipath environment is derived, based on knowledge of channel properties. The performances of this optimal receiver and other crosscorrelation receivers are analyzed and compared. The usual crosscorrelation receiver which is often used in UWB TR systems is shown to be suboptimal. In addition, an ...
متن کاملDesigning Delay Lines Based on GDRR for TR-UWB Systems
Designing a non-ideal delay line (DL) with phase distortion in a transmitted-reference ultra-wideband system (TR-UWB) with an autocorrelation receiver (AcR) is a great technical challenge. Differing from the currently empirical design method of DL, in this paper a semi-analytic approach is proposed through Gaussian approximation of the expression for conditional bit error rate (BER), based on i...

The performance of a single-user ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system employing binary block-coded pulse-position modulation (PPM) and suboptimal receivers in multipath channels is considered. The receivers examined include a rake receiver with various diversity combining schemes and an autocorrelation receiver, which is used in conjunction with transmitted reference (TR) signaling. Ultra-wideband radio, conveying data by transmitting narrow pulses without carrier, is a promising communication technology. Transmitted reference method can work with cross-correlation receivers, which have simple channel estimation and multipath diversity acquirement as well as low sampling frequency, to make a low cost application available. Optimal and suboptimal single user receivers for u...

For lack of empty radio bands, ultrawideband (UWB) radio system allowing reuse of already occupied frequency bands is the only solution to accommodate new wireless data communication services. Two types of UWB carriers are considered here, the frequency-shifted Gaussian pulse and chaotic signal with FM-DCSK modulation. A generalized model of transmitted reference systems is introduced first tha...
